Hawkeye's Face an Early Exit In the Big Ten Tourney

In the second round of the Big Ten Conference  Tournament the 5th seeded Iowa Hawkeyes were upset by 13th seed Penn State by final score of 67-58. Iowa struggled to find a rhythm offensively shooting just  26% from the field and 20% from behind the arc. Despite the offensive struggles the Hawkeyes were able to end to first half leading 27-19. In the second half it didn't take long for the Hawkeyes lead to disappear as Penn State went on a 15-2 run to take the lead. It was then a back and forth battle for the rest of the second half and came down to a 2 point game with less than a minute remaining. Penn State was able to pull away late after Iowa decided to foul and the Nittany Lion's made their free-throws. With the win Penn State will face Purdue tomorrow in the Big Ten Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. The Loss ends Iowa's 6 game win streak. Despite the loss the Hawkeyes are still in good position to make the NCAA Tournament. Many experts are predicating the Hawks to be between the 7-10 seed area. Selection Sunday is  this Sunday March 15th and that is when the official Tournament seeding will come out. Check back on the Blog for more updates as Selection Sunday approaches.
