Cyclone's Advance In Big 12 Tourney
Despite trailing the entire game Iowa State was able to come back with no time remaining to break a tie and beat the Texas Longhorns 69-67 in the Big 12 Conference Quarterfinals. Iowa State started the game off slow and trailed by 11 at half time. In the second half the Cyclones still trailed by double digits with less than five minutes remaining. Sparked by a defensive effort Iowa State scored 10 straight to tie the game 67-67. After an Iowa State timeout with 5.8 seconds Iowa State got the ball to to Monte Morris who sunk a corner 2 with no time remaining on the clock to give the Cyclones their first and only lead of the game. Harris also put up a game high 24 points. With the win Iowa State will face number 3 seed Oklahoma in the Conference Semi-Finals on Friday. The last time these two teams faced was on March 2nd when Iowa State was able to rally from a 21 point deficit to beat Oklahoma 77-70. The winner of Iowa State vs. Oklahoma will play the winner of Baylor vs. Kansas in the Conference Championship game..
